Choc Banana Biscuits with Miso and Dulse

This wonderful recipe is like a chocolate chip banana bread recipe or regular chocolate banana bread. Miso plus the best superfood greens powders, packed with antioxidants. This recipe can be altered to make chocolate banana muffins.

This wonderful recipe is like a chocolate chip banana bread recipe or regular chocolate banana bread, only with a dash of dulse seaweed and miso. Unlike traditional sweets, you can taste the organic umami flavour in this unique chocolate banana combo. Miso plus Seagreens seaweed, one of the best superfood greens powders and packed with antioxidants. This recipe can be altered to make chocolate banana muffins.

Dulse makes a beautiful addition to a banana chocolate smoothie as well. Use your traditional ingredients and organic wholefoods and sprinkle in some dulse flakes.

For your superfood list (no need for the Margaret River Chocolate Company), you'll need a few things.

Ingredients

  • Two large ripe bananas

  • One teaspoon chopped Dulse

  • One teaspoon apple cider vinegar

  • One teaspoon miso

  • 2 cups rolled oats

  • ½ cup chocolate chips

  • ½ cup chopped nuts (pine nuts will work)

  • ½ teaspoon each of cinnamon and cardamom

How to Make

Mash the bananas with a fork or food processor until there is a lump-free mixture. Mix in miso and apple cider vinegar. Crumble the dry seaweed into the batter and mix the other ingredients.

Leave to let the seaweed and oats soak up the moisture for a few minutes. Shape with your hands into balls and flatten them onto a tray lined with baking paper.
Bake at 175 degrees for 15-20 minutes.

Stay tuned; soon we’ll have a dulse chocolate crackles recipe!
